Oh Hudson

Hudson has been begging for the box of Coco Puffs that I had stashed away as my special treat for quite awhile now. As a reward for going to bed without fussing last night, Marty put a few pieces in with Hudson's Cheerios for breakfast this morning. Here's what happened next...

Daddy: "Here you go buddy. I fixed you a special breakfast."

Hudson eagerly anticipates his wonderful treat.
Hudson peers into his cereal bowl.
Hudson raises head head, a look of disgust on his face.

Hudson: "Daddy, there's rabbit poop in my cereal!"

I guess he won't be begging for my Coco Puffs anymore :)

Dear Addison

Dear Sweet Addison,
It has been brought to our attention that you are in violation of a few Pearce family household rules. Please be advised that immediate action is needed on your part and full cooperation would be most appreciated. The following is a list of said violations (in no particular order.)

1. Sleeping is very much enjoyed by all members of the Pearce family. We prefer to sleep at least 8 hours straight at night and find daytime naps helpful as well. Please adjust your sleeping routine accordingly.

2. Constant whining is a nuisance. While we understand that you cannot communicate with words, squeals and coos would be much more appealing than your persistent honking and crying. Please change your sounds accordingly.

3. Pearce babies should be able to roll over and crawl before proceeding to walk. Yes, your big brother can walk but you are still a baby. Please be advised that your need to walk is only escalated by the fact that you are not mobile but choose to be because you have no interest in learning to crawl. Please change your activities accordingly.

4. We are not a violent family. Yes, you are sweet but at times you feel the need to express yourself with your flailing hands. Your mother has battle wounds from your constant slapping and scratching. Please change your hand movements accordingly.

Oh, and one more thing. Because you are so cute, we are in fact, willing to overlook the violation of rules 1-4. Thank you for your immediate cooperation.

Your Loving Family

Miss Thang!

Look at Miss Thang standing all by herself! Or as Hudson says "bir-self."

Addi Poo

Her sweet little Easter dress (a week late)

Rearranging Daddy's face

Talking about this and that.

Poor Addison. She is finally cutting her two bottom teeth. She's had a runny nose for 2 weeks now and I thought she was sick but I'm starting to think it's because of those yucky teeth. She's not letting it get her down though. She's starting to stand by herself for a few seconds and likes to hold onto the outside of her exersaucer. Hmmm....I'm seeing a walking woman in the next few months!

You've Got To Watch This!!

If you're an American Idol fan, you'll love this video. So maybe it's a little cheesy but it gave me goosebumps.

Easter

Hudson enjoying his Easter egg pancake breakfast. I know...they don't look too much like Easter eggs but he thought they were fabulous :)

The Pearces had a wonderful Easter this year. We started the weekend with dinner in Bahama. Unfortunately, Addi girl was sick so she didn't get a chance to go to church and show off all her cuteness in her Easter dress. Hudson and I went to the early service then raced home so Daddy (who was staying with Addison) could make it to the next service. We had dinner at my parent's house Sunday night. When we got home, the kids went to bed and me and Marty finished the weekend by using the Ped-Egg Marty bought me for Easter. You may be laughing but we both have feet as smooth as a baby's behind :)

Hudson opening his Easter basket.

We bought him new big boy undies but instead of a 4T, I accidentally bought a boy's size 4. Oh well, he'll grow into them. But until then, they make a great hat!

Don't you love those shorts?

Addi digg'n into her Easter basket. She got a stuffed chick and some new hair bows.

That's My King!!

This is the 100th post of Four Makes Our Family. For awhile, I was trying to come up with something fun to do for this post. I contemplated posting some fun and random "Pearce Family Trivia," or maybe posting some embarrassing pictures of me and Marty back in our high school days but isn't it a coincidence that our 100th post fell on Easter weekend? Maybe it's no coincidence at all. Maybe this posting shouldn't be about our family but about the One who has given us an invitation to into His eternal family. I want everyone who reads this post to take about 4 minutes of their time and watch this video . Go ahead. Watch it. I dare you.

Do you know Him? Do you really know why we celebrate Easter? Christ died for you! Yes you!! He took all your faults, all your dirty little secrets, all your rebellion, all your shame and cast them away from you as far as the east is from the west. It's done. They're gone. All you have to do is believe that it's been done. Believe in the One who did it for you. He died. He conquered death and the grave and He lives forever. He loves you so much more than you could ever imagine and he longs to have a relationship with you. Praise God, our Risen King!! That's my King! Do you know Him?

To find out all about this King and how you can know Him, you are officially invited, by me, to be a part of our church's Easter service. Go to this link for the times and locations. Don't worry. You won't stand out as a "visitor." There will be so many other people there, you can tell them you've been a member of the church for years and they wouldn't know any different. But I don't recommend lying in church, especially on Easter Sunday :)

Babies In Boxes

Last week I decided to torture my children by making them sit in some empty diaper boxes while I took picture after picture. I finally have my first shot of both of them smiling and looking at the camera. In the process, I got a few others that were quite entertaining. I imagined what was going through their sweet little minds....

"Please let me pull your ears! It won't hurt. I promise...ha, ha."

"Ok, I'll be super cute and kiss you (even though I really don't want to) and maybe she'll get us out of these boxes."

"So...what's it like in your box?"

"This is super boring. I'd much rather be playing with my toes or chewing on some paper. Oh the things you must endure being a cute baby."

'Sup!

The fact that he's wearing my ballet flats is kinda throwing off the whole gangsta look.

Addison: 7 Months

Our Addi girl is 7 months old today. She is changing so much everyday and becoming quite the character. Here are some things she's up to these days....

She honks like a goose if she wants attention. I mean literally honks like a goose. If we ever figure out how to upload video on this thing, you can hear it for yourself.

Her favorite food is oatmeal. She eats 3 solid feedings a day.

We still battle with a sleep schedule. On a good day, she'll nap from 9-11 and again from 1-3. She sleeps from 7pm to 7am and wakes up once to nurse. Lately she's been waking up one hour into her nap and will not fall back to sleep. I've let her cry it out but after an hour of crying (and I do mean an hour straight people!) I give in. Any advice?

She still won't roll over but I can put her up into the crawling position and she teeters for a few seconds.

She's slowly warming up to new people. She'll let my mom tote her around and loves her friend Angie in the nursery. We tried to leave her with my grandparents last week so me and Marty could have lunch and they had to call me after an hour. She completely melted down and went into hysterics over being held by an unfamiliar face.

She has to take Milk of Magnesia everyday for constipation. Poor thing :(

Overall, she is a smiley, wild, sweet little girl who we fall in love with more everyday :)

My Child Is A Genius!!

This morning, Hudson took out all of our left over Christmas plates that we use for crafts and lined them up in a row. I immediately saw this as an opportunity to do one of my favorite things....sort!! I took out Hudson's blocks and asked him not only to sort them by color, but by size. He had no problem completing the task. Pretty good for a three year old, don't you think?
