My Talented Friend...

So this posting is a little late but I recently had lunch with my very sweet, talented and long time friend who just happens to be a fantastic photographer. Her gift to Hudson for his first birthday was to come take pictures at his party. We're both busy girls and one year later we finally made the time to catch up and take a look at these sweet pictures. Poor Bec had her work cut out for her. Hudson was cranky and in a cast during this time so most of the party he was either crying or cuddled up with me. Bec is taking on new clients so if you want some awesome pics of your family or maternity pics, let me know and I can give you her number. These pics are just a small example of the incredible talent. Thanks so much Bec :) One of the few shots we could get of Hudson smiling.
Make a wish.
Very cool shot.

I Have a New Hobby....

So... as most of you know, I'm a bargain shopper. Nothing gives me a high like finding a great deal and hearing stories of people who do the same. If you told me that you had just climbed Mt. Everest, I'd politly smile and not give it a second thought but tell me that you just found a BCBG shirt at Ross for $8 and I'll shake your hand like you were a Presidential candidate. Well... all that said, I've become slightly obsessed with reading bargain shopper blogs such as moneysavingmom.com, couponmom.com, and thecentsiblesawyer.blogspot.com. My new mission every week is to match store sales with coupons and see how much stuff I can get for $40. This was my first week of shopping at multiple stores and I think I did pretty well. I had to spend a bit over $40 since our pantry and fridge were bare from being gone for a week. I think once I have my "staples" on hand, I can get by on $40. Here's what I got this week for $50 (would have been $90 without store sales and coupons.) Check back next week to see how I did :) Oh, and I forgot to include my bananas and onion in this pic.

More Beach Pics

Here are the last of the beach pictures. We had a great time but we were also very happy to come home and sleep in our own beds. Poor Hudson was sleep deprived and cranky the last few days of the trip and didn't enjoy the water too much. He was so restless the last night we were there, that he rolled off the foot of the bed at 3 am. Thanks so much to Ma and Pa for their generosity this year :) This is the "amazon" spider that lived outside our door. Yikes!!

Sum, Sum, Summa Time!!

So... we're living it up at the beach this week! So far, we've discovered that Hudson is definitely a beach boy. He loves the ocean!!! He runs right up the the water until it reaches his ankles then runs back to the sand. Today he rolled around in the sand like it was his bed. We found sand in nooks and crannies of his body that we never knew existed!! Here are some of my favorite shots we've taken so far this week. I'm sure there will be many more to come! So sweet!

Slick Willey

Not too much has happened around the Pearce house this week. We're preparing to leave for the beach on Saturday so it's mostly been a lot of cleaning and trying to get outside projects done before Marty's vacation is over. We're finally getting rock to fill in our moat in the backyard today. Woop, woop!! Hudson has really been talking a lot, I mean, a lot!! We've started teaching him Bible verses and songs and he's really picking them up quickly. His favorite songs are Happy Birthday and Twinkle, Twinkle. He can recite 2 Timothy 1:7 and we're working on "Jesus is the Rock of my salvation," but salvation sounds more like salimation. I had to post these pictures of Hudson's hairdo that Daddy hooked him up with Sunday morning. We call him "slick Willy" when he gets a style'n 'do, such as this one. So cute!!
He's really into posing.
Swimming in the pool. (Please, no one turn us in for violating water restrictions!!)
Who knew a diaper could boat out this much? Thank goodness for swim diapers.
A sad attempt at a family photo.
